My Journey as a Training Executive in India

Every career has a story—and mine is rooted in a deep passion for people, learning, and hospitality. Becoming a Training Executive in India’s vibrant hotel industry has been a journey of growth, challenges, and countless rewarding moments. Here’s a glimpse into how it all began, what I’ve learned, and where I hope to go next.

🌱 The Beginning: From Curiosity to Calling

I didn’t always know I wanted to be in Learning & Development. But early in my hospitality career, I found myself drawn to training sessions—not just attending them, but observing how they transformed people. I realized I loved helping others grow, and that’s when I knew: this is what I want to do.

🏨 Stepping into the Role

My first official role as a Training Executive was both exciting and intimidating. I was responsible for:

Onboarding new hires

Conducting soft skills and service training

Supporting departmental trainers

Coordinating with HR and operations

Every day brought something new—whether it was designing a workshop, handling last-minute training requests, or simply being a sounding board for team members.

💡 Lessons Learned Along the Way

Here are a few things I’ve learned that shaped me:

Empathy is everything: Understanding people’s challenges helps you train with compassion.

Flexibility is key: No two days are the same in hospitality. Adaptability is a must.

Feedback fuels growth: Both giving and receiving feedback has helped me improve continuously.

🌍 The Indian Hospitality Landscape

Working in India’s hotel industry is unique. The diversity of cultures, languages, and guest expectations makes training both challenging and enriching. I’ve had the privilege of training teams from different regions, each bringing their own strengths and learning styles.

🚀 Looking Ahead

As I continue my journey, I’m excited about:

Exploring digital learning tools

Creating content that inspires and educates

Expanding my reach—perhaps even training internationally

I believe that when you invest in people, you invest in the future of hospitality.

💬 Final Thoughts

Being a Training Executive isn’t just a job—it’s a purpose. It’s about lighting the spark in others, helping them believe in themselves, and creating a culture where learning never stops. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited about what lies ahead.
